Our Review of the Little Toggs UV Combie/Wetsuit:
Size: 1-2 Years (Small, chest 52cm and body 40cm)
Design: Gecko
Design:
The Gecko UV Combie/Wetsuit from Little Toggs has a vibrant blue torso and child-like Gecko panelling. It is designed from a neoprene material to protect the core of the child, while the nylon and elastane panels allow for flexibility in getting the wetsuit off and on. This swimsuit also has a high neckline/collar to protect bub’s neck from the sun. This UV Combie/Wetsuit has a UPF rating of 50+, and apparently the neoprene is a complete sun block (I didn’t know that beforehand!)
Practicality:
We loved that the Little Toggs UV Combie/Wetsuit gave Starfish thorough sun protection, particularly with the sun-blocking neoprene material. We also found that the slightly thicker fabric (1mm) would be perfect for the cooler days and months, as it would keep his core warm in the water. For us, this is the perfect winter swimsuit!
The hardest thing about the UV Combie/Wetsuit we found was that due to its thickness, it was a bit harder to put on Starfish. As he’s only just started learning to walk, he isn’t steady enough on his feet to help us with the dressing process by standing while we change him (we are still lying him down) – and it was a bit of an effort to wiggle it up his body! We are looking forward to using it more in a couple of months time when he can be (slightly??) more helpful in the dressing up process.
Value:
If you’re a family that loves getting into the water most months of the year (particularly if you have a backyard pool), or you’re wanting to get your kids really familiar with the water, this wetsuit is definitely for you. Designed for older babies and toddlers, it is great for keeping them warm as they explore the water. For a similar price that many regular baby swimsuits are priced at, I think this is great value for money.
Stand out Features:
- UPF50+ Protection
- Neoprene (1mm thick) to keep the core warm and as a sun block
- Nylon/Elastane panels for flexibility in getting the wetsuit on (plus a cute gecko design on the panels!)
- Great value for money, especially for families constantly around water
Considerations:
- Can be a bit tricky dressing younger toddlers and babies, as the thick fabric is hard to get on their bodies.
