Hump-Day Hype: The Week of Relaxation

I’m so excited this week – my hubby is on holidays from work (wohoooo!). We’ve had some stressful weeks around our place lately. Amongst the health issues, a poor teething bubba, discussing work options for both of us, and other life dramas, it has been a very tumultuous time in the Morrison household. So it has been so lovely to spend some time relaxing this week as a family (enjoying our ‘staycation’), and it is DEFINITELY going to help me get over the hump this week!

1. Beach outings

While the weather in Sydney is meant to be ikky this week, Monday turned out to be so blissful and delightful that we made our trip to the beach early (it was hubby’s one wish for his holidays to go to the beach!). We enjoyed a nice walk, fish ‘n’ chips, and some play time (despite having a school of high school students sitting way too close to us!)

2. Sleep ins!

Another perk of having hubby around for the week is the sleep ins. He doesn’t sleep in very much and is excited to go get our son from bed in the morning, which gives this mumma some valuable extra minutes of zzzzzz’s. PLUS, after I’ve fed him, he offers to take him out to play or for a walk so I can stay in bed. Could he seriously just be on holidays forever?!

3. Being a Balanced Babe

I’m super fortunate this weekend that I am going on the incredible “Balanced Babe” retreat run by The Care Factor (check out the details HERE). This is going to be a great weekend for me to unwind, have some ‘me’ time, and to work on myself to get a good balance between being a mummy and working. I’m extremely anxious about leaving Starfish (and hubby of course), but I know in the long run it’ll be good for us all. Hubby is keen for the challenge of being a single parent for the weekend, so hoping our little boy will behave for him!

What ways have you found to relax this week? And if you haven’t yet, how are you going to? (We all need to relax at some point!)

We hope you enjoy Hump-Day Hype! and we can’t wait to share some amazing linked blog posts with you all!

Week #5’s Featured Post

My choice of Featured post for this week is Liz’s “I might be done having babies“. This is another post I relate to so well – being a fellow mum who does not live in moderation, and who is currently quite ill (although I am nowhere to the same extent of sick as poor Liz – my thoughts are with you! x). I love Liz’s style of writing – telling it like it is, completely relatable as a mum and a woman, and sharing her real/honest story.

Thanks so much for sharing this amazing post Liz – feel free to use one of our “I’m Featured!” buttons above for your post if you’d like! Thanks also to everyone else for sharing great posts, it really helped us get over the hump of last week! Can’t wait to see what we have this week!
