Hump-Day Hype: The Week of Photography

It has felt like an ETERNITY to get to the hump this week. I think the “fed-up” week has continued unfortunately. Nevertheless, there has been one thing I’ve been super excited about this week – my new camera. One of my goals for this year (I have even written about it a few times) was to improve my photography on the blog and on Instagram. According to blog and Instagram world – better photos = more followers/friends. After some advise from amazing friends (and the internet!) I got a Canon 700D. I’ve been loving the opportunity to practice taking photos, although I have been finding that my main target – my Starfish – is too active to get a clear shot. I took 793 photographs today trying to get some blog photos done for an upcoming post (keep an eye out later this afternoon hopefully!), but he was too busy flapping his arms around to get a decent photo! Nevertheless, I was able to get a handful of photos that I was happy with, and had much better quality than the phone ones usually give me, as you can see below:

At least the shiny camera has given me a nice diversion from the “fed-up” week of last week. What hobbies or activities have you found time to practice or partake in this week?

Week #8’s Featured Post

My choice of Featured post for this week is Cate’s “5 Things I learnt from 5 Days of Live Streaming“. I love how Cate has explicit, clear, actionable steps for getting onto Facebook Live (something I’ve been struggling with). I think she also does a great job at being open and honest with her journey for getting to doing the live streaming (I hear you, Cate!), and I think that is always helpful as a reader to relate to.

Thanks for sharing your lessons and tips with us Cate! I know I’ll certainly be taking them on over the next week. Feel free to use one of our “I’m Featured!” buttons above for your post if you’d like. Thanks also to everyone else for sharing great posts! Can’t wait to see what we have this week!
