This week I have felt permanently tired. The kind of tired that you feel like you’ll never escape from; never wake up from (ha!). AND it doesn’t have anything to do with my 6 month old – I’m extremely fortunate to have a boy who sleeps through the night (or self-settles if he wakes). I’ve recently been having health issues that I’m being tested for, and my anxiety seems to have amped up a notch at bed time, making it extremely difficult to sleep. Not sure what’s going on, but it’s messed up.
So I have officially dubbed this week, ‘the week of tiredness’. You see, this week is the start of something NEW and EXCITING (I know, I know, I always say that – but its true!). I’m starting up an exciting new blog link with Suzy from In the Lyons Den. We’re teaming up to get over HUMP DAY (aka Wednesdays if for some strange reason you are unfamiliar with this term!). We are going to share the link-up each Wednesday where you can read (and share) some blog posts to get you through the hump in the week. You’re going to laugh/cry and be inspired to make it to the weekend!
On Hump-Day Hype! (Wednesdays), I’m going to share my theme of the week and how I’m going to survive it (or perhaps celebrate it?). So this week, is the week of tiredness. How am I going to survive?
I know tea doesn’t have nearly as much caffeine as coffee, but it does well for me (and I do tea well by having at least 5 cups a day!). I did a walk to the servo at 7.30am to get some milk because we ran out two days ago, and I’ve been so exhausted that I couldn’t be bothered getting more. Until today – Hump-Day! Time to get motivated and get through the week. So I have my first tea of the day next to me and ready to go!
While writing may not be everyone’s cup of tea (haha! I’m on fire this morning!), I find it extremely enjoyable, inspiring and, well, relaxing! I am aiming to spend a lot of today just writing, and worrying about the mechanics/formatting/promoting/emails later. If I can write today, it’ll get me through the rest of the week (and hope my son has good naps today so I can do this!)
3. Spend time with my Starfish
Saving the best till last (obviously!) – spending time with my gorgeous son. While this may not necessarily help with ‘tiredness’, it’ll certainly help with ‘happy’ and ‘inspired’. That kid always inspires me to be a better mum, and helps me get through the week to the weekend when we can share some quality family time together.
